Wipe Material Focus
The material used for making the Vinco-Zero Wipe is compostable according to the European Norm EN13432 so ideally suited for composting and biodegradable. The material has undergone Ecotoxicity testing to meet the requirements of EN13432.
Biodegradability is break down of a product by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water, so that it can be consumed by the environment [EN14046 (2003) or ISO 14855 (2005)].
So what does all this technical detail mean?
In a nutshell the material used in the making of ZeroWipe is completely biodegradable in soil with the fibres disintegrating completely in compost at an ambient temperature within 4 months. The fibres are also fully biodegradable in seawater with a biodegradation pass of greater than 90% in 6 months.
The material is derived from plant materials and sourced from certified and controlled sources like sustainably managed plantations. Solvents are used to turn the pulp into fibre, but this material is developed in a manufacturing process which uses a closed loop production process meaning that the solvent used is recycled time and time again to produce new fibres and minimise harmful waste to the environment.
So the product has many great advantages:
- Above all this is a biodegradable wipe so a benefit to the environment.
- The wipe is very absorbent which means a higher liquid retention so greater sanitising efficacy.
- Very soft material great for sensitive skin and surfaces.
- Strong material which can stand up to snagging on uneven surfaces.
- The packaging is 100% recyclable.
So if you want to do your bit for the environment, this is the wipe for you.
